Cancer specific health insurance policies with least sub limits

Star Comprehensive policy has a cap for Cancer chemotherapy which will not be Sufficient at all . Please suggest health insurance policies with least Sub limits. How about Cancer specific health insurance policies with least sub limits?

Cancer Treatment is long and does not require hospitalization on most days. A health insurance plan will cover expenses of post hospitalization for specific number of days. Most cancer specific plan pay lump-sum 20-25% early and remaining 75-80% in advance stage. In advance stage patient is generally not able to attend work so there is loss of income. Also at times there is quite a possibility a full time nurse or care taker is required. For some affordability becomes a concern that’s where specific cancer plan is helpful.

The issue with such Cancer or other Critical insurance policies is the applicability. If the disease is not established within extremely narrow bands as prescribed in the policy, nothing is paid out. The only way to mitigate that risk is to keep a health specific corpus ready to cover expenses not paid out by insurance.

However it is not the case with Cancer Insurance Plans. Anyone buying a cancer specific plan should be clear when will it pay. Cross Check with a doc for mentioned early stage & advance stage. One can of course build a corpus but it would take time at least 5-10 yrs or maybe even more for some. But what about cover during the corpus building period? Also a cancer specific plan will cost almost half the SIP amount on annual basis.

Specifically.. Chemotherapy treatment isn’t prohibitively expensive. Doesn’t even need hospitalization in most cases. Can’t say about radiation therapy/surgeries associated with cancer. My friend’s dad was diagnosed with large cell lymphoma.. 3A stage. Underwent six rounds of chemotherapy. Never had to stay in hospital. Chemo treatment was done in daycare. Compound Fracture can set you back by 15 lacs in a corporate hospital. Be wise. Don’t compromise on few thousands.

I had Hodgkin Lymphoma with 8 chemotherapy sessions and 15 radiations. I did not get hospitalized for any of these. I was under Medical insurance of HDFC Ergo and all was cashless for me.

One additional thing to note is, policies cover only chemotherapy/radiation/surgery and usually don’t cover Immunotherapy or medicines (based on Genome test, some types of cancer can be controlled with medicine only). But these are very costly: immunotherapy can cost up to 1-1.5L per month and medicine could cost 1.5-2L per month also. Most policies don’t cover these. So check for wording on these also. Best option is to ask in a hospital insurance claim department or an Oncologist.

Cancer specific health insurance policies with least sub limits

Cancer is a disease that can be very costly to treat. Many health insurance policies have sub limits for cancer treatment, which can make it difficult to get the care you need. There are, however, some cancer-specific health insurance policies that have less restrictive sub limits. These policies can help you get the care you need without breaking the bank.

Cancer specific health insurance policies with least sub limits

Cancer specific health insurance policies have sub limits that define the maximum amount that the policy will pay for each type of cancer treatment. These sub limits often vary by insurer, so it’s important to compare policies before purchasing one. Some policies may have no sub limits at all, while others may have very low limits. It’s important to choose a policy with sufficient coverage to cover the costs of your treatment.

Why these policies are important

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, and the cost of treatment can be prohibitively expensive. That’s why cancer-specific health insurance policies are so important. They can help cover the cost of treatment and make it more affordable for patients and their families.

Cancer-specific health insurance policies typically have low or no deductibles, and they often cover a wide range of treatments, including surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. They can also help cover the cost of experimental treatments and clinical trials.

These policies are important because they can help make treatment more affordable and accessible for patients. In some cases, they can even help cover the cost of transportation to and from treatment centers.

How to choose the best policy for you

There are a few things to keep in mind when choosing the best policy for you. First, make sure the policy covers cancer-specific treatments and has low or no sub-limits. Second, consider the policy’s coverage for pre-existing conditions and compare it to other policies. Finally, ask about the policy’s premium and whether it is affordable for you.

What to look for in a policy

When looking for a policy to cover cancer-specific treatments, it is important to first check if the policy has any sub limits. Sub limits are usually placed on specific treatments, such as chemotherapy or radiation, and can often be quite low. It is also important to check what the policy covers in terms of outpatient treatments, as many policies will not cover these. It is also worth checking if the policy has a lifetime limit, as this can often be quite low.

How these policies can help you financially

Cancer is a disease that can have a major financial impact on patients and their families. cancer-specific health insurance policies can help to offset some of these costs. These policies typically have low or no deductibles, and may cover treatment costs that are not covered by traditional health insurance plans. They can also help to pay for costs associated with cancer treatment, such as transportation and lodging.
