Issues with Ola and Uber Cab Services

Q: Just came back from business trip, Wanted to share few things i learnt, hope it is of help to people who travel.
Don’t depend on Ola\Uber Car rentals! You get Point to point but no takers for rentals!
I was stuck in hotel for 1 hour in Hyderabad waiting for any ola\uber car rental to confirm.
Finally gave up and chose Ola point to point, and I asked driver why no one chose rental.

Ola point to point is (1) lot more costly (2) lot of time wasted waiting for cab to confirm (3) many ola\uber guys call and cancel (4) They don’t prefer ola money, many cancelled.

He said what ola pays him for 1 hour rental, he can make same money in 30 mins in point to point.
Hotel did not have any free cabs.

Googled up and found this site savaari. com, prices were reasonable but have to book a day in advance. and did that.

Finally found some garage who said he will send a cab for rental at short notice but 50% more.
But first day was mad rush and whole day was chaotic due to this ola\uber car rental issue.

Lesson learnt: advance book cabs thru savaari before traveling. Cannot depend on hotel or ola\uber.
Anyone know of any other site like savaari?

12 Best Alternatives to Uber and Ola Cab Services

Some sites are available as per the location.

1. Gozo Cabs – it’s cheapest with great service. Few may be hearing this for the first time but they do also have an app. I always use their app. Also don’t book the price which you see. Search their and just leave the app. In few minutes you will get a call from them. They will further reduce 100-150 INR. Later they will send the payment link. You need to use the same and pay 30% to reserve. I generally pay 100% as I don’t like to carry cash and I want my credit card getting used for reward points

2. One way Cab : Gujarat based but they cover most of the country. Things are similar for what I have mentioned for Gozo. They are second cheapest

3. Goibibo / MMT : out of the two, Goibibo is cheaper but not as cheap as Gozo.

I have NEVER faced cancellations on any of the above platform.

4. Goa miles for Goa travels.

5. Mitrataxi for Hyderabad.

6. Gujarat car rental in Gujarat

7. Savaari in Delhi and many metro Cities.

8. Smart taxi, bit expensive but professional service.

9. Meru- is something you can try too . It lost its market share post Ola/ Uber era, but trying to find its place.

10. ClearCarRentals – Give you services for Business Travelling, Package Tours and Airport Taxi for City use.

11. Cab Bazar – You can hire local AC cabs for outstation travel. Price starts Rs. 9/Km.

12. Wowcabs rides are available in Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and many other cities.

Conclusion

Savaari, MMT, Goibibo. These are the ones I use when on a business trip. For a business trip, best is to ask your employer to arrange cabs and stuff. Better to have connections with Cab owners in the Metro, if you are a frequent traveler. If you call them frequently, will get good rates. The quality of cars, interior cleanliness of Ola and Uber cars has significantly deteriorated.
